I was a hobby genealogist for ten years before becoming a professional. My ancestral lines are Irish and French Canadian, hence these are two of my specialty areas. In my "former life", I earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and founded and managed a local retail teashop in Edmonton, which I eventually sold. I began pursuing a genealogy designation in 2008. In 2015, I completed 40 courses with the National Institute for Genealogical Studies, required for the Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies (PLCGS). I chose this program primarily for the ability to specialize in both Canadian and Irish records. In 2015, I also began accepting clients. In 2016, I completed ProGen, a well-regarded professional development program. Most recently in 2020, I completed the Virtual All-DNA advanced Evidence Analysis Practicum via the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy.
I am a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), the National Genealogical Society (NGS), the Alberta Genealogical Society (AGS), and La Société généalogique du Nord-Ouest (SGNO).
As a genealogist based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, I am available for local research, or distance research for some other locations.
